EDUCATION FOR veterinary CLINIC ASSISTANT

EDUCATION FOR VETERINARY CLINIC ASSISTANT

VETERINARY CLINIC ASSISTANT (animal clinic assistant/clinic assistant) assists veterinarians and other staff at a veterinary clinic. The education provides knowledge about basic animal anatomy, what happens in examination rooms, how to best handle and manage animals at the clinic, the necessary equipment for various procedures, and the routines for blood sampling, vaccination, etc.

STUDY WHILE WORKING OR ADJUST YOUR STUDIES

We have tailored the course so that you can easily work while studying. Therefore, meetings, webinars, and the online school are designed so that you can study on weekends/evenings. This means that the study period can be extended at no additional cost. If you are unable to attend a session due to illness or other reasons, you won`t miss out- all of the meetings are recorded and made available for later viewing.

In addition, our lecturers organize interactive sessions where students can ask questions, join study groups, and engage in discussions with both instructors and fellow students. Lectures are held via Thinkific and typically take place over two days each month, included in the online curriculum..

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS/APPLICATION

You must meet one or a combination of the following criteria:

General study ability: Vocational education, completed high school education, or relevant work experience, such as work in health care, sales, or working with animals. The application is binding after 14 days.

EXPERIENCE RELATED TO THE EDUCATION

You should have an interest in medical issues and enjoy meeting new people. Veterinary assistants work closely with other professionals and should therefore enjoy working with others.

We have surveys showing that students who educate themselves with us have found jobs as veterinary assistants or in similar professions. An Eacademy has trained animal clinic secretaries and assistants for 17 years. We find that the need is great and that assistants will be in demand in the job market due to a lack of trained personnel in many areas.

The assistant should complement veterinarians and animal keepers so that they can have different tasks in a team. The assistant’s tasks include finding/cleaning clinical equipment and assisting the veterinarian before and after treatment.

You have the opportunity to further educate yourself, for example, as a dog groomer, animal keeper, or deepen your knowledge in animal behavior and communication.
